PHOTOS TAKEN APRIL 28, 2018:

Train northbound to Roaring Camp at Chestnut and Lincoln Sts. on April 28, 2018. Note the operational wigwag signal. Fifteen photos added 04/29/18.

The southbound train takes the wye westbound at the end of Chestnut St. and backs along Beach St. into the Boardwalk stop on April 28, 2018. Note the shots of Monterey Bay in the background as it enters Beach. All these shots were made from both sides of the W. Cliff St. overpass crossing the railroad. The tracks northward along the coast from the wye to Davenport are effectively abandoned. Twenty-nine photos added 04/29/18.

The last northbound trip to Roaring Camp has departed the Boardwalk on April 28, 2018. Note Beach is a one way street eastbound, and the vehicles opposing the westbound train have to pull over to the rubberized separators demarcating the bike path. The train will put up for the evening after arrival. At the time I photographed it, service was operating weekends with two round trips and an hour layover between each southbound and northbound segment. Fifteen photos added 04/29/18.
