Jefferson Transit (JeT) was created in 1982 to administer the public transit system of Jefferson Parish.
Buses were purchased by the parish and operated by the contractors (Louisiana Transit Company on the East Bank
and Westside Transit Lines on the West Bank). In 2006-2008 both contractors were
replaced by Veolia (now Transdev).
