Bought in September 1978, serial nos. 274-275, no wheelchair lifts, usually operated on Airport Downtown Express and Kenner Local.


RTS Nos. 501-502:

A Times-Picayune/States-Item press photo by Pat Patterson dated October 10, 1978 shows the two brand new GMC RTS buses ordered by Louisiana Transit Co. Location is unclear, but depicted are vice president of operations of New Orleans Public Service Mero Edwards "looking & wishing" (according to the back of the photo) and La. Transit president R. Kent Mitchell showing off the RTS buses. (The City of New Orleans would buy RTS buses on behalf of NOPSI in 1979.) Neither has been numbered yet. Scan of a photo from my collection added 06/03/19.
