The Grumman Flxible 703L-761L series (model 40102-8-1) was purchased by the City of New Orleans in 1981 for use by NOPSI. All fifty-nine buses had wheelchair lifts and were assigned to fifteen specific lines, including Broad, Canal, South Claiborne, Galvez, Magazine, and Freret, to make them accessible. They were the last buses ordered for New Orleans with express lamps on the sides of the front destination sign. The series went into RTA hands with the July 1, 1983 acquisition and ran into the 1990s.
