RTA assumed operation of The Lift paratransit service from the City of New Orleans in the 1980s. A variety of buses has been used, including Blue Birds in the early 1990s. As of 2014 the fleet was El Dorado National Aero Elites and Glaval Bus Titan II LFs, both on Chevrolet chassis.
