Unitrans was running special service during this finals week. On Monday the 17th and Wednesday the 19th,
AEC number RT4735 would offer hourly service on each of routes B (Sycamore) and G (Anderson), serving apartment complexes
connected to UC Davis on them. The coach ran half hourly, alternating each line at
Memorial Union Transit Center. I came along in the nine o'clock hour and drove back and forth from one line to another.
Each route's round trip took less than 30 minutes, so I waited for RT4735's return to the transit center after it passed
me outbound. On both Sycamore and Anderson, the buses of other routes also passed. In particular, on Anderson,
the J to the Silo was covered by an Alexander Dennis double decker and at least one New Flyer XE40 battery bus,
and Yolobus had Orion VII NG and OG buses on the 42A clockwise route.
I started back, stopping by Vacaville for both buses on CityCoach route 6. Next was Fairfield and
one of the Gillig battery buses on FAST route 6. And then I went to Suisun City to take pictures of
the Rio Vista Delta Breeze and Napa VINE route 21. Detouring onto East 5th St. in Benicia yielded
the Soltrans Y route in both directions.
Visited S. Main St. and Danville Blvd. in the San Ramon Valley (Walnut Creek and Alamo) to get the usual
head-on County Connection route 21 shots in the suburban country road setting.
And finally, I went to the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station and transit center. A number of Wheels buses,
including Gillig 1711 in Memorial Madden Cruiser livery, and some County Connection, San Joaquin RTD,
and StanRTA coaches are represented here.
Nikon D5600 camera yielded 361 photos.
