Amador Transit connects Jackson and Sutter Hill with other county communities.
Route 1 is a commuter service to Sacramento, but it's scheduled to end July 1, 2025.
I started by a visit to Livermore to photograph Wheels Gillig 1711 in its Memorial Madden
Cruiser livery. It operated the 580X to East Dublin BART. I also got pictures of the bus
returning to the Livermore yard.
Continued the drive straight through to Jackson. After a meal at Mel's Diner, I stopped
to do a load of clothes at the Jackson Laundromat. Nearby is Detert Park, where three of the
Amador buses make a stop, and I got two of them. After a pit stop and quick shots of a Dial-a-ride
bus at Walmart, I went to Main St. in downtown Jackson. Route 6 was operated that trip by a
Ford Transit van conversion. Next I visited outside Sutter Hill Transit Center, where all seven
routes converge. That's the location of my 1 Sacramento shots, departing for the afternoon trip
to the state capital. For the last of Amador buses, I took pictures of the 7 leaving
Sutter Hill and arriving Ione.
My return home was characterized by a dinner stop in Lodi at Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers. Then
I went to a couple of locations around town for Grapeline locals and San Joaquin RTD hopper 93
to Stockton.
And the final photo session was to do more RTD hoppers entering Tracy. I happened to get both
the 90 and 97 back to back.
