At the end of Navy Pier in Chicago sits two pieces of sculpture, depicting Bob Newhart as
Dr. Robert Hartley from The Bob Newhart Show. There isn't a plaque crediting the artist.
This sculpture originally sat outside the building where his office in the series was located,
but it got moved to the end of Navy Pier. I understand it was commissioned by TV Land in 2004.
PHOTOS TAKEN JUNE 18, 2024:
The statue of Newhart sits at the very end of the Navy Pier. I had to ask permission to take them, because
an unnamed event was taking place there with portable fencing blocking the way. I was granted access, though, and walked to the statue for the
shots. This was a trip from Kenosha, where I was spending the night after visiting the Kenosha Streetcar,
via Metra rail service to Ogilvie Transportation Center and a connecting bus to the pier.
