My family posed for this photograph in front of our 1966 Volkswagen Type 2 (T1) bus at Easter 1970. This was the penultimate model year of the T1.

VOLKSWAGEN TYPE 2 (T2):


Screen captures from the television series "Ironside" episode "Eye of the Hurricane" aired October 9, 1969. Here is a "hippie" VW Type 2 (T2) bus used in the story. The Volkswagen emblem was replaced by a peace sign. Five photos added 07/07/11.

FREEBIRDS WORLD BURRITO:



Freebirds World Burrito had this Type 2 (T2) bus parked at its soon-to-open Ventura location on June 13, 2011. Atop the van is "Libby" on a motorcycle. The restaurant closed April 2015. Ten photos added 08/07/11.

MADAME TUSSAUDS WAX MUSEUM
SAN FRANCISCO:

The San Francisco location of Madame Tussauds Wax Museum featured a VW Type 2 (T2) van in psychedelic colors in the lobby on August 30, 2016. Three photos added 09/04/16.

SAN FRANCISCO LOVE TOURS:


San Francisco Love Tours owns two T2 buses that make citywide tours with an emphasis on sixties and seventies icons and happenings. Sunshine Bus is leaving Hyde and Jefferson Sts. on its scheduled 5:00 pm departure on May 15, 2018. Eight photos added 05/16/18.

TILLAMOOK CHEESE:

Tillamook Cheese advertised a Loaf Love Tour featuring custom conversions of Volkswagen Type 2 (T1) buses that visited supermarkets across the United States. I have identified the buses by their Oregon license plates.
